The International Preparatory Magnet at Hamilton Middle School is designed to challenge the intellect and abilities of our most capable and motivated students within a comprehensive and challenging academic and participatory educational environment.  This overview should provide an understanding of the goals and objectives of this magnet program.

The International Preparatory Magnet (IPM) at Hamilton was established in 1995.  It was developed to prepare Denver Public School (DPS) students for the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma program at the high school level.  In DPS, the IB diploma program is offered at George Washington High School.

The IPM, although not affliated with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), integrates the IBO principles with national, state, and DPS standards.

Since the first class graduated in 1998, Hamilton IPM students have successfully entered IB and other advanced high school programs.
