News

New Teacher's Lounge Looks Terrific!
Peek in the Teacher's Lounge and you'll see a whole new space. Over the summer the PTSA refurbished the Teachers' lounge using all “green” products. The new lounge is a comfortable place for our teachers to catch a quick respite from their hectic days.   Special thanks to Lisa Breashears , Hamilton mom and professional designer, for all her help with this project.

A Healthier Hamilton
This year the PTSA’s new Health and Wellness Committee is teaming with Whole Foods to revamp our school store.  We ended last year with some taste testing and we will continue to try to find foods that the students enjoy and that meet DPS Wellness Guidelines.  This new committee will also look at other issues, such as increasing physical activity and creating a recycling program

Mini-grants for Teachers to Continue
PTSA will again underwrite the popular “Mini Grant” program which allows teachers to request funds to support small needs in their classrooms. Last year's grants included:

Rubik’s Cubes,
violin bows,
exercise equipment,
calculators and
a special Cinco De Mayo celebration with Bradley Elementary School.

Sunshine Lunches for Teachers Begin this Month
We will also continue the tradition of serving monthly lunches to our teachers and staff to remind them of how much we appreciate all they do!
