  • Extra masks- Please send your child with extra masks for the day. It is extremely important to continue to follow COVID protocols and understand that masks are required in the building. Many students do not like the masks we offer and prefer to wear their own. There has been an influx of scholars losing their masks throughout the day.
  • Water Bottles- Have your child bring a water bottle every day! Students are not allowed to drink from the water fountains due to COVID Safety guardrails. Water bottles can be refilled within the building with our water bottle electric fountains.
  • Check out HMS school policy page for information on dress codes, phones, and more.
  • School starts at 9:05 and we dismiss at 4:05. We do not have supervision available for your child prior to 8:45. DO NOT drop your child off prior to that time.
  • Please DO NOT make U Turns when dropping/picking up students. Our safety guards will be giving out tickets.
  • The front of the school is reserved for emergencies, visitors to the front office and buses/transportation only.
  • Please adhere to the school speed limit and drive SlOWLY during drop-off/pick-up.
  • We ask that you insist your child USE THE CROSSWALK or CROSSING GUARDS instead of darting between parked cars and traffic when crossing the street.
  • PARENTS OF 6TH GRADERS ONLY MAY PICK-UP ON THE STREET IN FRONT OF HOLM ELEMENTARY.

Bus Updates

DPS Transportation has sent a notice to schools indicating students without a mask will NOT be allowed to ride the bus. Over the past few weeks, they have provided masks for students, when needed, but will no longer provide masks to students. Please send your child to school with backup masks. They will NOT be allowed onto the bus without a mask.

Celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day

From City and County of Denver Official Website

Just three years ago, Denver’s City Council designated the second Monday in October as Indigenous Peoples Day in the city. In honor of that recognition and celebration of the area’s original inhabitants, #IAMDENVER talked with several members of Denver’s Indian community about what it means to be Native in Denver.

“Many Native Americans have been here in Colorado for hundreds and hundreds of years before Colorado was even a state,” says Early Dawn Roy, who attended the 30th Annual Friendship Powwow at the Denver Art Museum last month.

The stories here represent a variety of individual experiences of Native Americans in Denver, from art and cultural pride to education and relocation and so much more. Click the link to read more.

Free COVID Rapid Tests Available for Home Delivery

CDPHE recently announced the Rapid-At-Home program in which they will ship free rapid antigen tests directly to homes. Students, families, and educators can enroll in the program here.

A couple of important notes to keep in mind:

  • Due to significant interest, there appears to be several weeks delay in initial shipments after signing up.
  • These rapid tests are intended for ongoing screening; a rapid test cannot clear an individual with symptoms to go to school or clear someone from quarantine. Individuals can only be cleared with a PCR test at COVIDCheckColorado or your primary care physician.
