Volunteering at Hamilton

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Hamilton Middle School. We love having volunteers at our school, and Hamilton would not be the wonderful place it is without them. We have opportunities of all sorts, ranging from one-time events, PTSA community and school events, school committees, at-home projects, student supports, and more! Our school is filled with talented, creative, and caring families who work hard to make Hamilton an incredible school. There are many ways for you to volunteer. We encourage you to jump in and participate! Click on the link below to print out the Volunteer Protocol and our Statement of Confidentiality. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our School Liaison, Dimarlys Suarez at Dimarlys_suarez@dpsk12.net.

You are NOT committing to anything by filling out this form. Please complete our online volunteer survey (coming soon) and either a staff member or parent volunteer will reach out to you about the areas of interest that you select. Of course, if you prefer to complete a paper form, you can print this pdf (coming soon), or pick up a form from the front office.

Note: All volunteers that have regular contact with children must have a background check prior to volunteering.

Process for volunteers who work directly with students in an unsupervised setting (not in the line of sight of DPS staff).

The Unsupervised Volunteer Background Check does not require volunteers to undergo fingerprinting.  The higher-level background check IS completed online using Sterling Volunteers.  This is the same platform used for Supervised Volunteers.  To submit a request for a DPS Unsupervised Volunteer Background, please  use the Google form found at the link – https://forms.gle/cn7guMjsFig5onFVA

You will need to provide the volunteer’s name and email address.  Once the form is received, Volunteer Services will follow up with the potential volunteer by email.  Each year, volunteers will need to reapply to renew their eligibility status for the following 12 months.
