Dear Hamilton Families,
We’re having a Chromebook check soon. Everyone must bring their Chromebook to school every day. Students who do not have their Chromebook on their Check Day will be marked as having a lost Chromebook.
Chromebook Check Dates
If your student is missing a device, DPS policy requires us to apply the fees outlined below in MySchoolBucks. This includes lost and stolen devices. When the fee is applied to your student’s account, guardians will receive a MySchoolBucks email with an invoice. If the device is found, the fee will be removed.
The fees for missing items are listed below.
Item Missing Fee
If your student is not attending a DPS school next year, we will be collecting MyTech Chromebooks and chargers on their Check In Day. Only students leaving DPS schools will turn in their devices. If your student is attending a DPS charter school, they will need to turn in their device too.
Please make sure that you have your Chromebook and charger that day. Please make sure that it is clean and all stickers or other personal decorations have been removed. If there is writing, stickers, or other intentional damage on the device, you will be charged a damage fee of $25.
If your student will continue to attend a DPS school next year, they will not turn in their Chromebook and will keep it for their summer break. If you have an outgoing 8th grader who is attending a DPS high school in the fall, they can take their Chromebook with them to high school.
If your student’s Chromebook is damaged, they can turn it in to be repaired over the summer.
If you have questions about devices or invoices, please email our School Technology Partner, Wes Akers (wesley_akers@dpsk12.net).

Sincerely,
Fe Dillon
