No Backpacks!

Dear Hamilton Students and Families,

Student safety is a priority at Hamilton Middle School. In light of recent events, across our country, students will no longer be allowed to bring backpacks or any type of bag into school for the remainder of the year. Please make sure your student brings their charged Chromebook and a water bottle to school each day.

If a student brings their bag, beginning tomorrow, it will be confiscated, labeled and stored until the end of the day. They will be permitted to take their chromebook and water bottle from their bag, similar to their peers who did not bring their bags.

If a student needs to bring their lunch, they will be required to store it in their locker upon arrival and access it directly before lunch. Moving forward, students may not eat or consume drinks other than water during class time or in the hallways, as it is becoming a mess and a distraction. The school snack and lunch are healthy DPS options available to every student at no cost.

Thank you for your partnership.
