Gifted & Talented Updates

In an effort to increase understanding of the state law and rights related to a formal Gifted identification, we have created the Advanced Learning Plan FAQ (accessible here in English/Spanish/Arabic and additional languages) and Procedural Safeguard documents (accessible here in English/Spanish/Arabic and additional languages).

Both of these documents are based on Colorado’s Exceptional Children’s Educational Act (ECEA). We understand that as you read through this information, you will likely have more questions. We welcome you to reach out so we can provide clarifying information. You will receive these documents each fall as we collaborate to write your student’s Advanced Learning Plan.

Want to learn more? Mark your calendars for sessions brought to you by the Gifted and Talented Department. Details and an RSVP link are listed in the flyer here.

Starting in the second semester, students will be able to attend our GT & Talent Pool small group sessions which meet biweekly. This year, students will be able to select their content preferences for our sessions, ranging from environmental problem-solving teams, Destination Imagination challenges, book studies and writing, career interest development, leadership opportunities, and more. GT & TP families, be sure to fill in the goal surveys sent to you this week by GT Itinerant, Chelsea Chappell-Cox and reach out with any questions.
