SchoolChoice Round 2 Opens Friday, May 5

The finalized 2023-24 SchoolChoice Round 1 results were posted for DPS families on Saturday, April 22. Please check the portal to see your student’s placement if you participated in Round 1. Round 2 of SchoolChoice will open on Friday, May 5th, and remain open until August 31, 2023. Early Registration

Current DPS families – save time by updating your student’s information online! By completing this process using your Parent Portal account, you can avoid paper forms and save time at the school during the fall return. All SchoolChoice applicants must have an accepted seat prior to registering their student.

• The “Early Bird” window, Opens May 8-19th
• To register online, primary legal guardians of current DPS students must have an active DPS Parent Portal account.
• Visit myportal.dpsk12.org to sign up, or to check that your account is active and ready.
• For more information on how to complete online registration, contact the front office or visit schoolchoice.dpsk12.org.

The opt-in program for the 2023-24 school year went live on Monday, May 1. Families of eligible students need to log into the Parent Portal and opt their student in if they need transportation. General education students are opted out by default. McKinney-Vento, special education, foster care, and newcomer students will not need to opt-in because they will automatically be routed for transportation service.

If parents don’t opt-in by Friday, June 16, transportation will plan bus routes without their student. This doesn’t change their eligibility, but it could cause a delay in service.

El programa de suscripción para el año escolar 2023-24 se puso en marcha el lunes 1 de mayo. Las familias de los estudiantes elegibles deben iniciar sesión en el Portal para padres y optar por la inscripción de su estudiante si necesita transporte. Los estudiantes de educación general están excluidos de forma predeterminada. Los estudiantes de McKinney-Vento, de educación especial, de crianza temporal y recién llegados no necesitarán registrarse porque automáticamente serán enrutados para el servicio de transporte.

Si los padres no optan por participar antes del viernes 16 de junio, el transporte planificará rutas de autobús sin su estudiante. Esto no cambia su elegibilidad, pero podría causar un retraso en el servicio.
