It is time for our second round of BESS surveys for the year. The BESS (Behavior and Emotional Screening System) is a tool that provides a systematic, quick, and reliable way of assessing the behavioral and emotional strengths and potential risk levels in children and adolescents. The results are used to help us identify supports that can help offset current or future mental health risk in students. Take the survey and read more here.

Beginning on January 8th, Multilingual Learners (MLLs) in grades K-12 will participate in the ACCESS for ELLs state assessment. Only students who are currently identified as in-program MLLs will be taking this assessment. Read more here.

We’re seeking a community member to lead a 8-week program, running from February 5th to April 5th. Your role? Facilitate weekly sessions, mentor bright students, and cultivate an atmosphere that sparks leadership and community service.
As a gesture of appreciation, here’s what we offer: 📚 LeAP program curriculum. 🤝 Ongoing support from LeAP coordinator, and compensation starting at $20/hour for non-instructional staff and $23/hour for instructional. Auditions for the Hamilton Middle School Talent Show are next Thursday, January 11th, at 4:15 pm in the theater. Students who wish to participate must be able to attend Dress Rehearsals on January 19th, and the Talent Show on January 24th at 5 pm. All students are invited to audition, and any and all talents are welcome, not just the typical dancing, singing, or music. Does your student do magic? Acrobatics? Juggling? Beat poetry? Skateboarding stunts? Pet tricks? Stand-up comedy?

Saturday School starts again at Hamilton on Saturday, February 3rd 2024!
Each Saturday from 9:00 am-12:00 pm, students will work on Literacy, Math, and Science in small class sizes (a maximum of 12 students to 1 teacher). Saturday School is FREE to all students and provides breakfast and a snack each Saturday.
