We are pleased to announce that Maria Hite, MSW, LCSW who is a social worker with the Substance Use and Prevention Program within DPS has been assigned to provide support to our students and families for the rest of this school year and for the upcoming fall semester. We know that educating our students about drug and alcohol prevention is an important task. To proactively address these issues we will be presenting next week in our advisory classes the effects of alcohol, e-cigarettes and cannabis use on the adolescent body. Ms. Hite will oversee the implementation of drug and alcohol prevention programming. Ms. Hite will also be providing some upcoming parent training related to the prevention of drug and alcohol usage with adolescents. The Spark Team is excited to announce we are piloting a new Spark Middle School Summer Job Shadow Program this summer! Click on the the application form. The application window is May 1st- May 24th and the form will need to be filled out with a guardian.
