IB Programme

What is the IB?

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) is for students aged 11-16.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a global leader in international education—developing inquiring, knowledgeable, confident, and caring young people. Our programmes empower school-aged students to take ownership in their own learning and help them develop future-ready skills to make a difference and thrive in a world that changes fast.

The IB continuum of programmes are designed to develop well-rounded individuals who can respond to today’s challenges with optimism and an open mind.

For over 50 years, our four programmes provide a solid, consistent framework and the flexibility to tailor students’ education according to their culture and context.

IB programmes enable teachers to develop resilient, self-motivated young people who have the knowledge, skills, and sense of purpose they need to thrive throughout their lives and contribute to making the world a better place.  Visit the IB website to learn more.

IB at Hamilton Middle

Hamilton Middle School will have a reauthorization visit during the 2025 school year.

All students experience the IB MYP in their classes by practicing the Learner Profile attributes and by experiencing a cohesive internationally-minded curriculum.

Faculty and Staff experience high-level training to develop and reflect on our instructional practices for the students.

This year’s focus:

  • MYP Unit Planner
  • IB Learner Profile Attributes
  • Approaches to Learning

  • Assessment Study

At Hamilton MS we believe the IB MYP meets the needs of today’s students and prepares them for success tomorrow.
