Dear Hamilton Community,
I wanted to thank all of you for your support this week as we began the 2021-22 school year. The start of school has been amazing and at times challenging as we all adjusted to the “new normal” in-person learning this year. After a year and a half of being physically away from the traditional school day structure, many of our students might have been feeling a little out of practice when it comes to tackling school. We are setting expectations for learning and behavior across all grade levels and our teachers are continually planning rigorous and relevant lessons to engage our scholars. I am confident we are all prepared for the challenges ahead as we focus on closing gaps that may have occurred in our scholars’ learning and any challenges or obstacles COVID may bring us as we navigate through the year. Our school focus this year is centered around Relationships, Rigor, and Relevance as well as Student Ownership of Learning. I will share detailed information about our plan and our strategies in future messages. As we begin our third week of school together, I ask that you communicate with us directly if you have any questions or concerns. Quería agradecerles a todos por su apoyo esta semana al comenzar el año escolar 2021-22. El comienzo de la escuela ha sido asombroso y, en ocasiones, desafiante ya que todos nos adaptamos al aprendizaje en persona “nuevo normal” este año. Después de un año y medio de estar físicamente lejos de la estructura tradicional del día escolar, es posible que muchos de nuestros estudiantes se hayan sentido un poco fuera de práctica cuando se trata de abordar la escuela. Estamos estableciendo expectativas de aprendizaje y comportamiento en todos los niveles de grado y nuestros maestros planifican continuamente lecciones rigurosas y relevantes para involucrar a nuestros estudiantes. Estoy seguro de que todos estamos preparados para los desafíos que tenemos por delante mientras nos enfocamos en cerrar las brechas que pueden haber ocurrido en el aprendizaje de nuestros estudiantes y cualquier desafío u obstáculo que COVID pueda traernos a medida que avanzamos durante el año. El enfoque de nuestra escuela este año se centra en las relaciones, el rigor y la relevancia, así como en la propiedad del aprendizaje por parte de los estudiantes.
