Message from Mrs. Dillon
Congratulations to 6th-grade for having the best attendance in March! PTSA is sponsoring a Cocoa Party on Monday, April 18th for you!!! Get excited about our school-wide focus on attendance again during the month of April. From April 5th through the 29th, the grade level with the best attendance will earn the BEST SNACKS at lunch as a thank you for showing off their BEST BEHAVIOR of arriving on time and attending all your classes each and every day!
Additionally, thanks to some generous parents, students with 95% attendance will enter our Gift Card Giveaway! One student from each grade level will be selected. Come to school, y’all. We miss you when you’re not here.
We will be continuing our virtual field trip workshops with the Mizel Museum in their advisory classes and adding 7th-grade next week. Bridges of Cultural Understanding, the Mizel Museum’s traveling exhibits and associated programming, teach cross-cultural understanding through an interactive presentation of themes and rituals from around the world. Ask your child about it and encourage a discussion on what they have learned.
Congratulations to our assistant principal Rachel Langberg for being nominated for the DPS Rae Harris Curiosity Award and winning for the district!
Brain-Bowl has ended and our students worked very hard at the competition this month. Congratulations on your hard work!

Staying Safe and Healthy
We have automatic no-touch drinking fountains for students to fill their water bottles. Students are not allowed to drink water directly from the water fountain. Please make sure students bring a water bottle to school every day.
Students must bring a mask to school and wear it properly, covering their mouth and nose. If a student is not wearing their mask properly, we will call parents/guardians to support us and pick them up from school if the behavior continues. Please help us at home by talking to your student about proper mask usage and by providing them with a mask that fits comfortably.

Students use the Chromebooks assigned to them every day in class and we need your partnership. It is the student’s responsibility to charge their Chromebook each night and to take good care of the device. When a student loses their Chromebook, a 280 dollars replacement fee will be added to their account. The fee will need to be paid by the family before a new device is checked out to the student. Please contact wesley_akers@dpsk12.net if you have questions about devices.
