Here are some community food resources from Denver Food Rescue to share with you.

  • The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a federally funded U.S. Department of Agriculture program that provides USDA foods to low-income households. In Colorado, Food Distribution Programs contracts with Food Bank of the RockiesCare and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado and the Weld Food Bank to distribute these high-quality, American grown foods to our neighbors in need in every county. 
  • Food Distribution Household Programs: The CDHS Food Distribution Programs work with emergency feeding organizations throughout Colorado to provide households in need with food assistance. Household programs include the Commodity Supplemental Food Program and The Emergency Food Assistance Program.
  • Welcome to Everyday Eats: A food support program for qualifying Coloradans age 60+ to help keep healthy food staples in their kitchens. Known nationally as the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, Everyday Eats is quick, it’s easy, and it’s healthy. Participants can pick up a monthly package of cereal, canned goods and dairy with plenty of low-sodium, diabetic-friendly options to make nutritious, complete meals.
  • Meals on Wheels: Depending on individual circumstances, meals may be provided along a sliding fee scale, from no cost to full price.
  • Colorado WIC: Supports your child from birth to their 5th birthday and moms from pregnancy to after delivery. 
  • CDE Emergency Feeding: School Food Authorities (SFAs) and other child nutrition program sponsors can serve free meals to children in the event of an unanticipated school closure, extreme weather event, natural disaster, or other similar situation.
  • Tasty Food: Denver invites youth, ages 5 – 18, to enjoy breakfast, lunch, supper and/or a nutritious snack. Tasty Food meals include up to five food groups that are low in fat and prepared fresh. No ID or registration is required.
  • Revision No Cost Grocery Program: Every week we offer our community fresh, healthy, and culturally relevant food at our choice-style food pantry. 
  • Hunger Free: This is your one-stop-shop for food resources across Colorado. Here you’ll find information on community resources, food and nutrition programs, and other public benefits designed to support you and your loved ones.
  • Cooking Matters: Cooking Matters works in communities across the country to help parents and caregivers develop their skills when shopping for and cooking healthy foods on a budget.
  • Double up Food Bucks: This program doubles the value of federal nutrition (SNAP or food stamps) benefits spent at participating markets and food retail stores, helping people bring home more healthy fruits and vegetables while supporting local farmers.

  • We Don’t Waste: We Don’t Waste developed our Mobile Food Market initiative to reach further into the community, serving people with healthy, nutritious food, such as fresh fruit, vegetables, lean protein, and dairy.
  • GrowHaus: The GrowHaus mission is to cultivate community-driven food justice through education and food access in the GES community. In support of our mission, we offer reduced pricing to residents in the 80216 zip code.
  • Servicios de la Raza: The BES food pantry is available to anyone that needs food assistance making sure that families and individuals can focus on becoming or remaining stable and thriving.
  • Weinberg Food Pantry: The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Food Pantry in Denver assists individuals and families facing hunger and food insecurity.
  • Metro Caring: You are welcome to visit our market for a wide variety of fresh, nutritious food at no cost. Our market is filled with fresh produce, dairy, meat and plenty of other items.
